I find it fascinating how more and more independent films have been coming out that are so obvious important. Not self-important, legitimately important. Such is the case with The Tribe, a movie recently acquired by Drafthouse Films about a school for deaf youth and the seedy prostitution ring going on behind closed doors there. All of the dialogue for the film is in sign language without subtitles, and my god, it looks amazing. This is going to be a film unlike anything we’ve ever seen.
In other news, I’ve fallen completely in love with Drafthouse Films.
