During the 1950s, cinemas were flooded with wacky comedies featuring the adventures of Francis the Talking Mule and a total of seven of these films were made. The third entry in the series was Francis Goes to West Point and featured an early uncredited bit part for a young Leonard Nimoy as a football player. You can see him in this scene wearing number 52. If you think doing a film with a talking mule is the weirdest project of Nimoy’s career, remember he once did an instructional video about laserdiscs with a talking rock.
