One of the most prominent terms in the world of professional wrestling is “jobber”. Basically, a “jobber” is a nondescript wrestler whose role is to make the established superstars look good and lose quick matches (defined as “squashes”) to them in a definitive fashion. I always get a kick out of seeing jobbers eventually work their way up the ranks to become stars themselves. A prime example of this is Dean Ambrose, who is currently one of the most popular superstars in World Wrestling Entertainment, but got his first brush with the company under the name, Jon Moxley, when he teamed up with another jobber named Brad Taylor to lose a squash match against the tag team, M.N.M., in this 2006 episode of WWE Velocity.
