Before They Were Stars: John Larroquette Narrates “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”

Yeah, this is one of the most obvious “Before They Were Stars” moments of all time and I’d say it’s an appropriate time to finally post it. Marilyn Burns, the star of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, recently passed away, which is a pretty eerie coincidence, considering that a 40th anniversary screening of the film just occurred at FantasiaFest in Montreal last week. Anyway, as I’m sure many of you already know, the iconic opening narration for Chainsaw was provided by future multiple-time Emmy winner John Larroquette, who was friends with Tobe Hooper at the time and pretty much did the gig as a favour to him. They could not have expected nor would they have wished to see as much of the mad and macabre as they were to see that day…
