Ladies and gentleman, this isn’t the first time I’ve posted something like this on The Back Row and it probably won’t be the last. You’ve probably seen this situation before: some bargain basement video company discovers an obscure movie that a celebrity appeared in before they were famous and even if said celebrity is not the star of the film, their name and picture will be all over the DVD cover. Often, a current photograph will be used to fool buyers into believing this is a recent movie. Such was the case with Getting Wasted, a 1980 stoner comedy featuring a young David Caruso. In spite of what the cover art would have you to believe, Caruso has about two minutes of screen time in this film as a background player and he certainly looks like a lot younger than he does in that photo!
