Since Richard Linklater is the odds-on favourite to win “Best Director” at the Academy Awards this weekend, I thought I’d dig up his very first filmmaking effort. During the 1980s, the city of Austin, Texas put together an annual Woodstock-style music festival called “Woodshock”. In 1985, Linklater decided to make a 7-minute short documentary about “Woodshock”, done in the same style as the famous documentary, Woodstock.
