This commercial from the early 1970s features a young, pre-Fonzie Henry Winkler, but it also functions as a hilarious dated time capsule of how much different air travel was 40 years ago. For starters, the ad endorses American Airlines’ “coach lounge”, which features a friggin’ piano in the black of the plane! Man, I have the feeling that piano would be quite the safety hazard if the plane ever went into a nosedive and was forced to make an emergency landing. In addition, you also get to see Henry Winkler pull out a lighter, which as I’m sure you’re well aware, is a major no-no on commercial flights today.
