In 1984, the future voice of Lisa Simpson herself, Yeardley Smith, got her first television role when she was cast in an episode of ABC Afterschool Special entitled “Mom’s on Strike”. Smith played the teenage daughter of an overworked housewife who gets burned out by all her responsibilities and decides to go on strike, and in another interesting Simpsons foreshadowing, the family’s last name here is “Skinner”. Incidentally, because this clip likely originated from an old worn-out videotape, the episode moves at a rapid speed, so this is what Lisa Simpson would sound like if she was a member of the Chipettes.
