In 2004, when Miles Teller was a 17-year old student at Lecanto High School in Florida, he and his friends made an 18-minute short film called Moonlighters in which Teller played a teenager who is dumped by his girlfriend and attempts to get revenge by staging a robbery on her home. Moonlighters actually did pretty well at some film festivals and Teller wound up getting his first brush with success by taking home the “Best Actor” award at the Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival.
