The first ever documentary film on the most secretive duo in the world. The epic story of two uncompromising artists. With the participation of their closest collaborators and friends from Pharrell Williams to Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Kanye West, Michel Gondry, Paul Williams, Peter Lindbergh, Leiji Matsumoto and Pete Tong.
There are few famous artists who have managed to be as secretive as Daft Punk, but those robot-helmeted guys have succeeded in creating this futuristic alter-egos for themselves when they’re on stage that are such a part of their image that, even though I know I’ve seen them without their helmets on, I could never pick them out of a crowd without their costumes. That mystery, combined with their terrific music, makes me very intrigued by Daft Punk Unchained, a documentary about the rise of the duo featuring a whole lot of never-before-seen stuff and interviews with their collaborators. It looks like it’s well constructed and unconventional, and no doubt will feature a lot of great music. Could well be the soundtrack of the year, guys.
Daft Punk Unchained comes out sometime in 2015, having already been released in France.
