I’ve been doing 007-themed “Before They Were Stars” features all week, so I would be remiss if I didn’t include a future action star’s brief appearance in Roger Moore’s final Bond outing, A View to a Kill. At the time, Dolph Lundgren was working as a bodyguard for Grace Jones and also romantically involved with her, so when Jones was cast as the villainous May Day in A View to a Kill, she inquired whether her boyfriend could possibly get a role in the film. Lundgren wound up getting a small, dialogue-free bit part as a KGB agent, but the experience compelled him to pursue acting further. Within months, he would earn himself a much more prominent Russian role which launched his career: Ivan Drago in Rocky IV.
