Legendary heavy metal musician Lemmy Kilmister has just passed away at the age of 70, but it may surprise you to learn that he started out his career by performing with a band with a closer resemblance to The Beatles than Motorhead. During the mid-1960s, Lemmy became the guitarist of a Blackpool-based rock band called The Rockin’ Vickers and performed under the decidedly non-metal sounding name, “Ian Willis”.
