When it comes to the greatest stop-motion creations in all of cinema, there are only two names that come to my mind instantly: Ray Harryhausen and Phil Tippett. I feel as thought Tippett is the unsung hero of the art form, though. Everybody knows Harryhausen’s work, but Tippett has created some of the most iconic stop-motion special effects using his awesome go-motion technique. And as much as I like how Jurassic Park turned out, now that I’m older, I kinda wish that they had gone with Tippett’s original go-motion dinos. Anyway, here’s a short Vice documentary on Tippett’s work. Watch!
