A corporate troubleshooter is sent to a remote, top-secret location, where she is to investigate and evaluate a terrifying accident. She learns the event was triggered by a seemingly innocent “human,” who presents a mystery of both infinite promise and incalculable danger.
This movie, produced by Ridley Scott but directed by his son Luke, could really, really easily go off the rails. Ever since Transcendence, I’ve been highly skeptical of this kind of corporation-themed science fiction story about the perils of experimentation, set in the real world. I was even skeptical of Ex Machina, but I came out enjoying that one. Anyway, Morgan could be extremely stupid, but it could also be surprisingly fun. Either way, I’m interested to see Anya Taylor-Joy again after her awesome performance in The Witch.
Morgan comes out September 2, 2016.
