Before They Were Stars: Kevin Kline in “On the Twentieth Century”

Kevin Kline spent the majority of his early career performing on stage, but his big break came in 1978 when he won a Tony Award for his performance in the Broadway musical, On the Twentieth Century. Of course, in spite of being featured prominently in the preceding commercial for the production, Kline was still considered an unknown and did not even get his name mentioned in the ad. In addition to Kline’s award-winning performance, On the Twentieth Century took home a ton of Tonys that year and Kline even got to perform at the ceremony.
