Maybe it says something about the slate of movies we have to look forward to in 2016 that 10 Cloverfield Lane is rapidly becoming one of my most anticipated. It’s got a great cast, even if that cast is minimal, and I love the stuff that director Dan Trachtenberg has done so far. And heck, I really enjoyed the first Cloverfield movie. Is this a sequel? A spiritual successor? Will it just be a people-in-a-bunker thriller, or are there kaiju in it? The fact that I don’t already know everything about the movie is enough to keep me interested, that’s for sure. Whoever’s doing the marketing for Batman v. Superman should take note, because that whole film has basically already been spoiled in the trailers. Anyway, here’s a new ad for 10 Cloverfield Lane, and man, John Goodman is great, isn’t he? Why hasn’t he been given a million Oscars by now?
