Before They Were Stars (2-for-1 Special): John & Joan Cusack in “Sixteen Candles”

In this week’s Shouts From the Back Row podcast, we talked about siblings in the entertainment industry, which included one of cinema’s most successful brother-sister acting duos, John & Joan Cusack. Looking back, I’d completely forgotten that before they made it big, the Cusacks had small supporting roles in John Hughes’ 1984 hit, Sixteen Candles. John played one of Anthony Michael Hall’s friends while Joan had the very distinguished role of “Geek Girl#1”.
